Public Spaces

Jim Ply was the main designer of the Beverly Hills, California 9-11 Memorial, creating a powerful yet reflective space in memory of those whose lives were lost on one of the darkest days in America's history and honoring the first responders who so bravely stepped in to protect citizens and defend our nation. Here, one of the crossbeams from the World Trade Center is lit as the centerpiece, reminding us to "never forget." In this gallery, step behind the scenes of the creation and opening ceremony commemorating this special public space.
